Is it possible not to appear in court on hearing date,what will be reasons used?As child custody concerns explain in detail what are points to considered for having child custody in favour of sons mother?

you may appear as directed by the court. generally the custody is given in favour of mother unless the father shows that the custody in favour of mother is not in favour of the child.

If there is a plausible reason for non-appearance, you may seek exemption by filing an appropriate application. The custody depends upon age of the child, education, parents financial and social status etc. Welfare of the child is paramount consideration for the court while deciding such issue.
