Daughters right in fathers property
I m 64 years and have six brother and one sister, all have their own families. my father-mother died 20 year ago. there are some land on my fathers name. have me and my sister any right on that? after my death have any right my son on that? my husbund passed away 7 year ago and we r facing some fin.problems. my father mother was not make any will. what is latest law on daughers right in fathers property? my brothers going to sell the land. if i have any right on the land,what can i do?

Equal right to share in property as of brothers.

You have an equal share in the property; on your death, you son will acquire your right and will be entitled to claim your share in the property.

Daughters in India have got full right over the ancestral property. Matter of fact is that your brothers cannot sell them without giving your share provided your name is being entered into 7 X 12 Form.
