Legal Question in Family Law in India

Dear Sir/Ma'am,

Please advice what we should do when the husband is not appearing for hearings in a mutually consent divorce case. We had filed mutual consent case instead of reporting the husband and in law's bad behaviour so as to save time. But even after filing mutual consent even after nine months the husband is not appearing in front of the court. We had mutually agreed that they will return our jewellery and other gifts that we gave them on the day of the final hearing. But neither the husband appears before the court nor he returns anything.

Please advice us what to do. We are really confused as all relatives say that now if criminal case is filed it is not strong.

Regards

you can send a notice/letter asking him to appear and end the marriage by consent. If after that he does'nt appear you inform the court and convert the petition into contesting.
