Legal Question in Family Law in India

Dear Sir/Mam

I have been married for around 2 years but now i am living separately from my husband at my parents home from 1 and a half months. Within six months of my marriage my in-laws have taken all my jwellery back from me even jwellery gifted by my parents( in kanyadan). My husband is a womaniser and he never took any care of my needs. There were times when there was no atta and food at my home and he will go to office and not even think what his wife will eat. Since my marriage my husband used to harass me mentally by not talking to me for months and there was no physical, and emotional attachment too. There was continuous harassment for dowry from my in-laws and i understood why my husband behaves with me like this( he indirectly used to ask me to take money from my parents and used to say that he will spend this money on me). My sister-in-law used to tell my husband to buy a house and say "paise iski maa se le lena wo degi uske pass bahut paisa hai". I have been married for around two years but in these two years i have never felt like i am a married women as there was no attachment from my husband's side. He never allowed me to go to my parent's home and neither even came with me to my parent's home after my marriage. I was not allowed to talk to my neighbours and parents neither he himself used to talk to me. I was all alone. In the meantime my brother-in-law also got married and my in-laws repeated the same thing with his wife. Now,I dont have any jwellery and money. My father has got retired last year and we are five sisters two of my elder sisters are married in the same family and my brother-in-laws are harassing my sisters since their marriage( around 14 yrs.) they have now filed a case of domestic violence against them. But I want to take DIVORCE from my husband by MUTUAL CONSENT and my husband may not agree for this I dont want any financial compensation from my husband and dont even expect that he will give my jwellery and money back( as he and his family is very LALCHI). I am well educated and i am looking for a job. Please guide me what I can do in the present circumstances if I am not able to convince my husband to take divorce by mutual consent because my husband says he will never divorce me.

Thankyou

You may consider filing a complaint with the local police, with a copy to the SP of the District, under Sections 406 and 498-A of I.P.C. claiming back the 'istridhan' which includes all your jewellary etc. as also seeking prosecution of persons who caused 'cruelty' against you.
