Legal Question in Family Law in India
Dear Sir,My brother is ill treating and has pysically assaulted my elderly and frail mother. Please urgently advise what immediate action I can take to protect my mother. I do not live in the same city as my brother and mother and there is no one else I know in that city that I can approach for help. Await your advise on the best course to keep my mother safe.

Where is your brother and mother located ? making a police complaint would be the right course at this juncture against your brother. Is your mother financially , physically dependent on your brother ? Where is your father ? Where are you located ? I have few more questions to ask you before i could give you my advice but answers these ones.
it is your mother who has to file the complaint against her son for ill treating her. she may also file a complaint u/s 125 of crpc for maintenance against the sons.
