Legal Question in Family Law in India

Dear Sirs, We got bail from cjm, howrah in case of 498a/323. tomorrow is the first hearing date. My advocate said to be present at cjm court,Howrah. He is saying it is not necessary for the complainant( from wife's side) to be present in the court. Summons will be sent to her after police submit charge sheet.1. Is he correct in saying so?2. How can I know the case genuinely listed in the court? My wife lodged false fir on 6th may'12. We got bail from HC on 21st june'12 . Also got bail from cjm, Howrah (where the case is pending, as written in the a.bail copy granted by HC)on 2nd july after obtaining certified xerox copy of bail granted by HC, which we have given at cjm court, Howrah. We have kept the xerox copy of the same. Lawyer said the certified copy has to be submitted in the cjm court, Howrah, which we have given on 2nd july. Then we have given surrender slip. In the slip it was written n/d 16.07.12 i.e., next date is 16th july as said by my advocate. He said we have to submit this surrender slip to our local p.s. which we have done, and keep the xerox of the same with us. Kindly give detailed answers of the questions written above. Thanks a lot and regards.
