"has deserted the petitioner for at least two years immediately preceding the presentation of the petition;"
does that mean that she can only file for a divorce only if we are separate for 2 years? and nothing less than that? I will be happy to hear an yes to what i feel

yes, she has to prove that the separation of 2 years or more was because you deserted her. Mere separation won't suffice
