My friend if to be explained in a layman's language J.S. is just the initial process of Divorce where both the parties are asked to live separately and to give a thought to their decision, and if agree proceed for divorce.

Now the question arises as to which is the best step then in that case I'll suggest that a person should go for Sec. 9 RCR instead of J.S. or Divorce, and in your case I'll suggest for the same because of various reasons.

judicial separation means living separately under the decree of court and divorce is dissolution of marriage where the husband and wife are presumed dead for each other. it is up to you to decide what course of action you desire.
