Legal Question in Family Law in India
Divorce in Hindu law.
I'm a brahmin, got into a love marriage with Punjabi Khatri girl. After 4 months of marriage, I got to know of her horrible past life. I wish to file for divorce now. We are mentally seperated already. I don't wish to spend any more life with her, neither does she needs to spend any life with me. Can you advice on how to go about this?

not easy.
she has an upper hand and may land you in trouble.
there is also a minimum waiting period of one year from the date of marriage even for filing a mutual consent divorce petition.
try to patch up if you can, and settle the matter amicably without litigation.
if there is a settlement, you may try to invoke the powers of Lok Adalat for pre-litigation adjudication and obtain a divorce decree.

Firstly, your divorce does not seem easy and straight as you have came up with the question on Law Guru.
She can land you in trouble.
I would strictly advice you solve the matter amicable by keeping your parents, friends or respected mediator in between the case.

You can file joint petition for mutual consent divorce if she is ready.
