I want divorce from my husband b'cos he start torturing me from very next day of our marriage. Now it almost 2 and half years, the reason is he have some misunderstanding regarding my past. somebody has calling him & giving wrong information regarding me. that I have some affair. He start suspecting me by checking my phone calls, start following me from office to home but he got nothing. many time I convince him that I have nothing in my past & present but he don�t understand. everyday he biting me at home or at road. Everyday he making a seen. After all drama he start begging that pls forgive me I will not do it again,pls ''tumhe pata hai na mai tumhe kitna chahata hoo,hum alag rahenge''.Every time he uses the same statement felt that thing will be all right but very next day the same situation. Now it become a hell to live with him. I tried my level best to make him happy but all goes wasted. Because he eager to take my life and one day he did.he locked all the doors & windows and took knife to kill me also threaten by fire. I told all this to my parents & his parents. My parents get shoke.they told me to get divorce. But his parents not taking things seriously they trying to convinced me only. what should I do.pls advise(I hindu)

Dear Sudershan,
First of all i will adive you to approach to the WOMEN Cell in your city. These cells are meant for such type of situations. They will handle such type of men coz as per my view, there is some frustration in the mind of your husband else he loves you. Due to this frustration (May be less income or infrerity complex etc.) you r the best judge.
About divorce, i will advice first of all try to solve this matter amicably and live together and don't go for divorce, but leave the house of your husband in the presence of Panchyat or your family and friends precence and give him time to set his mind.
After some time he will himself come to you and appolozise but then take a wriiten appology from him and a promise not to harass or even speak a single wrong word against you.

Contact personally if possible for
consultancy (chgs Rs 100/- only). You can contest for divorce or file case under domestic violence act.

You should immediately file a case against him under section 498-A IPC as also invoke the provisions of Domestic Violence Act. If the facts mentioned by you are correct, you must initiate criminal prosecution and secure his conviction. He should be sent to jail. However, it all depends upon you. The law strongly frowns upon such husbands. The Indian women are fully protected against domestic violence.
