do i have to get divorce in the state i got married in?
we got married in Bangalore but moved to chennai immediately. he is not living in india any more, it has been a year since we have been seperated. he is asking for a divorce and tells me that his lawyer has told him that i need to go to bangalore to get the divorce. is that true? can we get it in chennai? it is tough for me to go to bangalore as my daughter is in school etc and it will cause problems for me. is he planning any thing that will harm me by asking me to come to bangalore as i have no one there to come with me to the court etc. also he says that he can get the divorce in 15 days, is that true. he has got a divorce from the US court. can he use that to get a divorce in a hurry here in india?

you can get divorce in chennai he cannot get divorce within 15 dyas, divorce of us court is not vaild in india

Your last question first : The USA divorce obtained by him has no legal value in India; on the contrary that can be used by you as an instrument to seek his criminal prosecution for fraud.
You do not need to file divorce in Benglaore. The Chennai court may also have same jurisdiction; therefore, if you do not have to go to Banglaore to file for divorce.
There is no law in India which may facilitate any party to seek divorce in 15 days.
