i am divorced women,am pregnant from my boyfriend.i want to give my name and surname to my baby.is it possible to give my name to my child on birth certificate?is it compulsory to give fathers name on birth certificate?

It is not compulsory to give fathers name. You can give your name and surname to your child.

The same depends upon State Govt Policy and Rules. If in Tamil Nadu, you can give your initial to your child as per state law. You just refer local advocate to know the prevailing position in your state
