i am a divorcee who is remarried.my present husband would like to adopt my daughter. my first husband is absconding.please let me know the legal procedure of adoption in this case.i am an indian resident.

You may need to wait for seven years from the date child's biological father became untraceable. After that, you may seek a declaration about his "civil death" and thereafter your present husband may adopt the child with your consent.
