What are the documents required for a marriage under special marriages act and how to get marry under that act

Birth certificate of both

Proof of residence of both with proof of identity

Affidavit of this being first marriage

If already married, then death certificate of spouse or decree of divorce

passport size photographs

three witnesses with proof of identity

You may need to make appropriate application to the authorities in prescribed format. After your application is received / numbered, a public notice is to be issued inviting objections, if any, from the General Public. On a stipulated date, the concerned Officer will declare your marriage and issue a Certificate.
