Dowry torture and failure police action
I am of Kolkata ,
my in-law is at Ranchi,
Jharkhand. I filed a FIR against
my husband and other four
of my in-law house for dowry
tortures at Kolkata u/s 498,406,
313,34 in May'07.
But after three month with
several request & persue , the
police issued warrant agaist
only two person instead of
five accused in FIR and went
to Ranchi . But said that the person are not found in their home or office , as a result they handed over the copy of the arrest warrant to the concerned Police station of Ranchi, Jharkhand to arrest them and to send to our
police statio of Kolkata .
They even neither arrest the
other accused named in the
FIR nor searched their house
for Stree Dhan list given to
them.
They are not taking any further action and said that there are no information from Ranchi police, accused not found etc.
Now what shall I do ? Why not
issued warrant against all accuse in FIR ?Is Ranchi police
entitled to arre

Consult a local lawyer for this case and start doing the proceedings as soon as possible.

you are entitled to approach the local court having jurisdiction over the police station to seek a direction for further action.

Persue your case and if necessity arise approach the court.Consult a local advocate with details.

Yours is a case where u have not recieved competent legal advice. The reason why only two person have been made accused seems to me poor drafting. It is very common. But dont loose heart. Police can only delay things but can not dump your complaint. Make representation to higher authorities. If nothing works approach higher court.

You should file an application u/s156(3) of CrPC in the magistrate's court praying for necessary direections upon the police.
