Legal Question in Family Law in India

I am an employee, working in London, I got married 6 months ago in India, after marriage I stayed around 2months and I return back to London.

Last 3 months back on a small issue, my wife decided to leave my house and go to her parents house and for that tried I stopped her and suggested her not to go, but she replied to me that she is going on her own decision and she left with her father. After that my father-in-law contacted me over the telephone and I suggested to him that, I am going to come within short period and we will solve the issue. Even after that my father-in-law contacted to my

Family members and finally he expressed that he is going file a case in local police station against me and my whole family. Not only the police case many times he had harassed to my family members. At last he is asking for compromise and don't want to break the relation with me. Even my family members from the beginning they are forcing me not to break the relation.

So please give me suggestion, if I am going for compromise with my in-laws, should I take any legal written assurance, because I can't trust on them.

I didnt taken any single penny at my marriage as dowry. I got this thinking because one of the person from their family informed me that my father in-law, spreading the wrong information to their family and friends that he has given me big amount as dowry & vehicle ...etc at my marriage.

Please provide me legal suggestion, so that I will be safe in future, for that I am very very much thankful to you.

Regards

jgn

yes, it will be good to save the marriage. However, you have rightly thought to get atleast a confirmation from your wife or her father that there was no dowry involved in the marriage, be it may cash or otherwise. It may be on a simple plain paper. It can be in the form of a letter or an email, whatever. More simple plain language, the better it is.

In addition, if she is willing to write, then you may take that she left the house with her own desire and is now coming back of her own sweet will.
