i am deepali--name removed-- age 20.i am from india and hindu ny religion. i am in a very critical situation. my mother and father are divorced. they live separated.my mother has affair with a married man. i hv 3 sisters and1 brother. all the sisters are married. bur my elder sister is divorced too. my parents never care about me. father wants that i shold live with him and mother forcefully makes me to live with her. i dont want to live with either of them because i get mental depression. i want to live separate so that i can make my future and be tension free.but all of my fanily members are against this and seaying you are unmarried. i dont want to marry now.i want to nk ny carrer. i want to live separate.what should i do?

Hello.

There is no legal hurdle to live a seprate life.

I would advise you to settle the disputes arised and if they are not been resolved then only take this step to move away from your family.

Its a jungle outside to take care.

in your situation when ur mother is having an affair and you are quite tensed because of that, it is advisable that you stay with your father along with all your siblings. its good that your father wants to fulfill his responsibilities towards you. staying alone is not a good option as you might be exposed to societal dangers and might not be able to cope with them. one needs a secured family headed either by mother or father and preferably both.

There is no legal bar to live seperately.However to get a good social status i suggest you to live within your family but not withyour father or mother because in my opinion you responsibily towards your family.
