What is the maximum amount of maintenance have to pay by the husband and on which grounds the maintenance have to pay by the husband?

The maximum amount of maintenance may be fifty percent of the income of the husband.

The normal rule is for providing sufficient amount which may help the wife to living life as per husband's standard of life maintained by him at the time of separation.

This varies from case to case keeping in view several factors including the income of both husband and wife, the need, the status before seperation etc.
