how do i file a DVA case?

i need to file for a protection order and injunction so that i can stay in the matrimonial home, but the protection officer is asking me for my mother-in-law's address as she is the second respondent. i do not have the address as they have not disclosed it to me and even my husband has left to US and has moved from the old residence. how can i get the addresses, can i file without the address? i am alone here in india and have no clue how to go about this. do help pls.

as per DV laws, u are entitled to stay in the shared household. you can get the residence orders but for the you need to disclose the residence address of your inlaws so that the court passes the residence orders at that address. as far as your husband who shun away his responsibilities, other legal remedies are available.

if you make her a party you need her address but under DV act you cannot file case against a lady

You do not need to search for their addresses. The complaint may be made on the basis of "last known address". The authorities may make a 'publication' in a local daily and proceed accordingly.
