Hi, I filed 498A case against my husband and inlaws.They came for a settlement before police. But it is not up to expectations.They are telling that they will give only marriage expenses.I left my job abroad because of him. They spoiled my career and my life.They ruined my life.My question can i take marriage expenses as if now and file my loss of earning and etc in DV act.What if they ask me sign on settlement form before police and settle the matter. They are very well enough. They cheated me in many ways. And all are saying that to take that amount and settle.If it will be in court they will ask for proofs for everything and you will not get anything and said it will take years.But i lost a huge amount and i cannot go back to abroad because of them. What about my future.If i sign on that agreement can i file for other cases. What are my chances of getting compensation,loss of earning and all my money spended on marriage.Please advice me the way i can approach.

the law under domestic violence act is clear that the women may also seek compensation for the acts of violence committed upon her. you may accordingly ask your lawyer to move appropriate application.
You may send a copy of your FIR for appropriate examination and advice.
