I filed a domestic violence case against my in-laws last year.We went for a compromise hence no protection order had been passed for me and my children.Can my in-laws be punished for breach of protection order under DV ACT.

your facts are not complete or self contradictory. If there was no protection order where is the question for punishment for its breach. You have not mentioned whether compromise was recorded before the court or not.
