i did FIR on my my husband motherinlaw and brother in law on 4thfeb 2011(498a, 504, 506,dowry,323) these people didnt get arrested and they took stay from allahabad high court on 17th feb, the court has said in their arrest stay that our case is sent in THE MEDIATION CENTER. my husband has to deposit draft on rs 10,000 for me thr.i want to know that what happens in mediation center and what can be done now in this matter. im very tensd coz i have a 5 yr old daughter and havnt got any money from thm since 19th jan 2011...i m thinking about doin a maintanance case on my husband now....plz advise shld i do it or not. and wht can b d result of all this . plz tel me what happens in mediation center. my parents house n inlaws house both in noida. i want to appoint a good lawyer in allahabad also....plz helpppp

Dont Panic ! Yes you can file for maintenance under Domestic Violence Act . And i ma sure you'll get relief from the court immediately. Mediation center is for bringing abut a compromise between the parties to the case. If your differences with your husband and his family are settled according to your wishes then matter matter may be closed down or else the chargesheet against your husband husband and his family would be filed to face prosecution. You can tell the mediator that your husband has not paid 10,000 as directed by the court and he'll take action against them.
