Legal Question in Family Law in India

I know foreign adoption in India is not legal if you adopt from an adoption agency. I am from the u.s.a. We have adoption in u.s.a where the birth mother who can not afford the baby gives it up for adoption to a family who wants a child. I want to adopt a 4 or 5 year old. Is there a way to legally adopt directly from a family who needs to give up there kids. I might want the child to keep in touch with his family and maybe I can pay the family a monthly income. Is this possible for me to do from u.s.a. I want to be assured legal custody of the child. I don't want to adopt an infant.

the adoption in india is not done this way. there is an agency run by government which is called CARA and its office is situate in New Delhi. you need to seek permission to adopt from that agency and only then you may go for adoption. in case you know the family willing to give in adoption, the process of CARA may be started.
