Legal Question in Family Law in India

My best friend applied for divorce last March. She is still living in the same house since she doesn't have a place to go. The husband is refusing to give her divorce. he doesn't care about her and ignores her all the time. She has fallen very sick, has a brain disease for which she needs expensive treatment and wants the husband to return all her assets, cash, property, jewelry which he has forcibly taken away from her 11 years back by threatening her. She's a very mild person. Can't answer back and suffers silently or sheds silent tears. Only to me she reveals her misery. She tried to take her life twice but did not succeed. He is living off her money and property and know that he has to give all back if he divorces but is not willing. Are there any laws or ways to help her? I'm scared that she will become bed ridden without treatment. She has to beg him for her expenses which he usually refuses. Please help. I don't know how to help her.

dear client she can file domestic violence case to ask money and jwelery back from husband. she can also file police complaint for physical torture in women cell. she can ask divorce on the ground of cruelty from the husband. for any legal help call me on 9422611385

Its shocking to read your friends story. To begin with , she can 181 and make complaint against her husband etc. The legislatures have given wide and ample powers to woen in this country and she can use the same against her husband etc. She can file a petition before the CAWC u/s 498a and 406 IPC against her husband . She can also file a petition under the Domestic violence Act to for maintenance and residence.
