Legal Question in Family Law in India

My friend who was married for 3 months left her husband and went to US for studies with out informing him.she never came back even when her husband requested. its been three years since she left. For the past 2 years her husband is been asking for divorce. We doubt if her husband is having another woman in his life. She dosen\'t want to give the divorce. What action can be taken on him?

in case it is the wife who left her husband, it is the husband who can seek divorce on the grounds of desertion and not the wife. how can a wrongdoer claim the protection of law?
