Legal Question in Family Law in India

my friend who was from out of state.He was working on contract in pvt ltd co.so he has decided to take new bike he was having 15 thousand and he was was contract so bank was not ready to give him loan so have taken the bike on my but 1 year later he said me somebody has stolen his bike and also insurance also finished.so i have given complaint and make FIR.one year late he went from maharashtra to his state i dont have his adress.bank is calling me again and for the money other wise they will suit file in civil court plz suggest me what i have to do?

If your friend is not traceable then you have to settle the Bank dues.
