Gift deed is sufficient or not

Sir, My father want one of his property to be gifted to me. So is GIFT DEED is sufficient or i have to make the registration in my name,so that later i can claim the property to be mine. We are muslims.

Are you married of single? Gift deed is enough but wont advice you to depand on that because it can be challengable on some stages. Can you let me know what sort of property it is .. ancestral or self acquired and also your family tree.

After completion of gift you have to get the property mutated in your name.

If it is your Father's self earned property it is safe for him to gift you the same.However under the registration Act the gift deed is required to be registered.it is also desirable to get it registered to avoid further disputes.
