can a girl's family file a case against their son in law from the place where the girl was married or filing a case is possible only at a place where girl lives after marriage.

The case may be filed at the place of marriage. A lot depends upon the "cause of action" and the nature of case you are contemplating.

the case can be filed by the girl at the place where she is residing at the time of filing or where the marriage took place or where the couple resided together after marriage or where the boy is residing. out of these, the place of residence of girl is the best option.
