Legal Question in Family Law in India
My Grandfather were two brother among which he was younger, after the death of the elder brother he left her daughter behind, her wife got married to someone else. My Grandfather took care of her for all this years and even got her married and took all expenses of it. Now after so many year, that daughter is asking for her share in property. There was a farm in name of my Grandfather and his elder brother and she is asking for her share from that farm as his father's name is also included and its also mentioned about his son but he won't have any son but a daughter, is she liable to get share under the succession ????????????

Law as it stands today, a female child is also entitled to a share in the property, same as a male child.
