Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi,

I have filed for divoce, child custody and maintanance. Also filed a case on my husband - section 498a. Now he wants to come for settlement. Once we agree on the terms and prepare consent papers what are the next steps. How much time will it take to settle the matter.

He has agreed for divorce and to give child custody to me. He is not very keen on paying any maintanance or one time settlement.

are you keen to take maintenance or one time alimony from him? if you are keen, you may have to get it through court of law, and in case you satisfied with divorce and custody, you may approach a lawyer for drafting your agreement and petition for divorce by mutual consent.

If he is not keen to provide you maintenance, then you may get it through court. IF u dont want any panny then you may file mutual divorce.
