Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi,

I am Poornima and I am staying in US along with my 7 YEAR Old son for my onsite assignment . Becoz of my carrier growth I want to extend my stay here for couple of years.

My Husband he is blackmailing me he will drag to road by filing legal cases.He left for india during Feb 2012.

He is planning to file for divorce.Is there any impact on my carrier?

means If he file Divorce case Do I need to come and attend personally? becoz it may impact my carrier .He is threatning me like this.Please advice me .

you may not have to come to india personally to attend the court hearings. you may hire a lawyer in india and you may be represented by any of your relative or your next friend. the process is pretty simple in case you are able to get in touch with a lawyer well conversant with overseas matters.
