Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi,

My brother recently got married, its been almost 5 months. In the past few days my sister-in-law created a lot of quarrel, nuisance and started ill-treating our whole family including my brother.

Few days back we came to know that she is pregnant and she showed her interest of travelling to her native. But we suggested it is not advisable as it can lead to a lot of medical complications for her as she is in the first trimester. But, to our surprise she called cops on us with the help of her brothers and relatives by wrong means and she started claiming that she was being held captive here and she was being tortured by my whole family. And for the last two-three days we have been getting threatening calls from her, her brothers and relatives that they will put false allegations on us and do wrong to us. Now we have come to a decision that, my brother should give divorce to her as she has been a bad wife.

Please suggest us to how this is possible and what kind of threats we should be aware of and what other precautionary measures we should take.

Any legal action, more particularly even a talk of divorce, will be counter productive and more harmful to you and your family's interest. Try to stay cool with an open mind to make adjustemnts at appropriate time, if good sense prevail upon her. Wait and watch and stay cool, without considering for divorce or any other legal recourse.
