Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi.

My family has forced me into getting married to a girl. I was in love with another girl and wanted to get married to her. When I visited my family in Chennai two weeks ago, they asked me to visit some relatives in Trichy. When we went to Trichy, I was taken straight to the temple and was forced to get married to a girl whom I had never met before. I am not interested in this marriage and cannot live with this girl. The marriage was not of my choice. I was not even consulted or informed about it. I feel cheated. I want to divorce the girl. I know this sounds mean of me but the marriage was forced upon me. Please advise.

Stay cool. Try to assimilate the situation. The time is not ripe to think about divorce unless it is possibly by mutual consent. Any wrong step at this stage may land you in trouble including your criminal prosecution.
