I am a housewife with two toddlers.I am in a an abusive(physical and mental)marriage for six years.I would like to seek divorce from my husband.Presently staying with my husband in Bhopal.Kindly help me with information how to proceed so that my kids can get maximum benefits if we divorce each other.My husband is from well to do family.

it is always better to sort the matter out amicably with the intervention of elders in the family. if this cannot happen, then you may have to hire a lawyer for filing the petition for divorce along with maintenance for yourself and your children.
if you are firm on taking divorce then hire a good local lawyer dealing in family matters and file a petition for divorce
You have two options to get divorce . 1) Mutual consent and 2) Contesting one. I would suggest to talk out with your husband and go for mutual consent divorce otherwise the contestng divorce would certainly take time ,energy etc from you.
