Legal Question in Family Law in India

My husband has asked for mutual divorce and proposed that he will return 10% fof my stridhan now and 90% after the divorce has been granted by the court after 6 months. I would like to know on what terms and conditions mutual divorce happens. My husband has refused to give me any alimony or compensation. we have agreed to this. All my clothes, footwear, jewellery, linen, purses, everything else is at my husband's and in-laws house. I have been sent to my parents. Husband and in-laws are by nature greedy and have married their son only for money. We think it is only a trick to not return our valuables.

You may consider filing a complaint (F.I.R.) against your husband and in-laws and seek their criminal prosecution u/s 406 / 498-A of I.P.C.

You may also consider their prosecution under the D.V.A.

They are legally obligated to return all your "istridhan" whenever you so demand without waiting for divorce. You are also entitled to alimony/support.
