Dear Madam,

It is an old ancient Hindu ritual which is also written in the Mahabharata of betting the wife at a game of dice. This practice is still prevalent in a few towns and villages in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa and Tamil Nadu.

The way I look at it is each and every individual has a conscience. If you are true to your conscience, nobody can harm you. Stay firm. Tell your husband upfront that you dislike his nonsense and are not going to give in at any cost.
