Husband asking me to go to coimbatore

my husband is applying for a divorce and he now says that i should go to coimbatore and he knows some judge who will do it in 3-4 days (mutual consent divorce, we are christians and got married by the christian marriage act).

he is insisting that i go to coimbatore, we got married in bangalore and lived in chennai. is it possible to get the divorce in coimbatore or is he trying to cheat me. he has promised to pay a lump sum settlement but says he will pay it only in coimbatore in front of the judge.

what should i do?

The Coimbatore court may have no jurisdiction over the matter. You may not want to obtain a divorce which may be based on fraud. You may consider filing a divorce petition in Chennai or Bangalore.

Your husband's attempt to make you follow his illegal demand may amount to 'domestic violence' and you may take consider taking appropriate action.

My friend has given you correct advice. Coimbatore has no jurisdiction in this matter.
