My husband and I got married in the year 2003 in the state of Karnataka. I am planning to divorce my husband. Wanted to know if I can file the case in Uttar Pradesh where I am living now with my parents and kid.

yes, you can file the petition for divorce at your place of residence.

The place of jurisdiction in a matrimonial case is not decided by place of residence of one party; on the contrary it will depend upon :

(a) the place of marriage; OR

(b) the place where the parties LAST resided together; OR

(c) the place of residence of the other spouse.
