why would my husband put his religion as hindu when he is a christian?
We got married in 2007 and are applying for a divorce now. we got married according to the christian marriages act 1972 and he wrote christian in that document but now when we are applying for the divorce he is saying he has not documents to prove that he is a christian so he is putting it as hindu. is there any loophole that he is looking at by saying this?
what do i do? can i agree to this sort of affidavit and filing of divorce? will it cause any problems later on?

Yes, he may be deliberately committing a mischief so that he could avoid the divorce in future claiming himself to be a Hindu; You should tell him to write the word Christian in the affidavit and also bring necessary documents in support thereof. You may refuse to proceed further with the divorce if insist upon cheating.
