in case you were married in India, you need to take divorce in India itself. moreover, you recently came to US so u may not even file for divorce there. a contested divorce needs to be verified by indian courts as per sec. 13 of cpc.

If both of you go for Mutual Consent Divorce in USA then its valid in India but if either of the spouse challenges the jurisdiction of USA court then it is invalid.
