Iam married in 2007 . My husband cheated on me and went abroad and theres no reply for 3 years and i applied divorce and i got ex- partee decree divorce in may 2012. Now that iam staying in my parents house and iam not doing any job bcz of some problems. Recently read in newspaper that an act approved in parliament which states that wife can get half of salary of her husband from marriage onwards in case of divorce. Is that act kept in law ? Now is it possible to seek maintanence based on these basis? If it hadn't came into act when will be it happens i.e., time period ? If this act came into consideration who can seek maintanence based on this act i.e., from which year married people will be taken into consideration and is it applicable even though divorce taken place? please help me in this concern.
