Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi, I am an indian national. I got married three years back. My wife has not changed her name after marriage so far. I wanted to confirm as to what are the implication of not changing the name. It is compulsory to change the names after marriage etc. I am expecting to a father soon as was wondering legaly what surname dose may child take in case my wife does not changes her surname.

any guidance will be appreciated.

there is no legal implication if she has not changed her surname. she can keep her maiden name. but the child would get your surname.
