Please be informed that my daughter is living with us for the last 2 years. My daughter is fighting a legal battle of divorce and DVA against her in-laws and husband ...she is earning 30k per month and her husband is earning 40k per month . The mediations have failed , her husband is not ready to keep her with him..uptill now she was not interested in divorce. they do not have an issue. She has recovered 70% of her dowry articles and stridhan is still with in-laws..498a case was filed in which they got bail as their lawyer is very cunning and twisted true facts..pls help as my girl is under severe depression and has decided for a divorce as she is already 32 yrs old and her biological clock is also ticking. If she goes for a divorce can she get a permanent alimony and her stridhan. The next court hearing is on 10th May. A total of 12 lakhs was spent in marriage. How much cash can be recovered from her husband for alimony . please advise?

You do not need maintenance; the only fight remains for recovery of balance amount of istridhan. litigation is a long drawn and costly process; you should try for amicable out of court settlement.
