Legal Question in Family Law in India
Intercast Marriage - Legal help
Dear Sir / Madam
I'm a resident of Erode, Tamil Nadu and i'm in Love with a Girl, who's also a resident of Erode. I'm a North-Indian and She is as Tamil Girl (Gounder). We are i love for the past 5 years and now we intend to get married. But the girl's family are threatening to Kill me and her both, if we try anything and they are torturering her everyday. They threaten to kill my family too. We both are of eligible age and have finished our engineering(2004 batch) in the same college.
Can i have help from the police for protection for me, my family and the girl. Can they be stopped legally from harming us ? My parents completely agree but are afriad that the girl's parents may do harm.
Kindly advice sir as there's very little time left for us.
Thanks and Best Regds

Re: Intercast Marriage - Legal help
YOu can go ahead with marriage, but both should be above the age of 21 years.
You can take the help of police and file a written compliant against each and every person, by naming them if you know their name. obtain a copy of the acknowledgement filed in the police station and send a copy to an Advocate nearby who can support you.
It is better first let the elders discuss with each other family, find out as to why they are not interested in agreeing for this message.
let both the parents family meet at some place and discuss the issues and sort out the differences. It will be possible to settle the differences.
Try your luck, finally if nothing happens approach the High court or lower court for restraining the objectionable persons from interefereing.
