Legal Question in Family Law in India

issues in baby naming

Hi,

I recently became a father to a cute lil baby boy. I decided to name him X X X where the last name is my family name.I have not added my name anywhere to my kid's name.I would like to know if they would create any legal problems in future (esp. in India). Is it a necessity that my name should be added and if so will it be ok if i add my name/initials as his middle name thereby keepin my family name as his last name.

Re: issues in baby naming

There is no legal requirement of adding father's name or the family name as middle or surname of the child. You are entitled to give any name to your child whatever you may like irrespective of your name and that of your family name.
