Legal Question in Family Law in India

I am a junior Advocate please advise me

Husband and wife seperated for 20 years and no divorce. Now after a gap of nearly 20 years of seperation wife has filed a maintanance petition against husband. Now husband age is 71 years. he is not working he cannot pay her maintanance to her. he is sick. to trouble her husband she has filed this petition.

what can be done so that the petition be dissmissed and husband be freed from paying maintanance
