Legal Question in Family Law in India

My Lawyer made me Sign form an Attorney Form

Hi,

My Question is that I have hired a lawyer to fight my case as I was harassed for Dowry. The first day I went to Lawyer's Office, he made me sign on a Form, I am not sure if it was some Attorney form or something.

I have not seen any other lawyer doing this. What could that mean and what all can a lawyer do based on that. Let us say in future if I decide to discontinue that lawyer, can he just go there in my absence without my permission and disturb my case

You have sign only Vakaltname. Vakalatname gives right to your advocate to appear before the court on behalf of you. if you want to change your lawyer. go to him and get No Objection certificate from him.

Nothing wrong has been done with you by the lawyer. You may not anticipate events of future. If you want to withdraw from this lawyer and engage someone else, better you inform him in writing, clear his dues and obtain a "no objection certificate" from him.

it may be a vakalath form without which the lawyer cannot appear in court on your behalf if you at any point of time want to change the lawyer you can ask for a no obejction from the previous lawyer
