No, you need not because in the divorce petition also you may seek visitation rights. You should not multiply litigation.

If you are husband, you should be prepared to make payment of maintenance amount for your wife as also adequate support for your child.

You can file an appropriate application before the divorce court praying for visitation rights . If you file a petition for custody of child ,court can grant you visitation rights during pendency of case. Its better you do not avoid divorce case , join it.
