Live together

Is �live together� legal in India? We spent 2.5 years together without any social or registry marriage. We separated from past 1 year. At my work place, her name in Spouse Section and I work for a Pvt. Ltd. company. Is needed to file a divorce case or not? If not then kindly explain because I wish for have a legal marriage with another girl.

Live-in relationship has been recognised in Law in India for a limited purpose to protect the wife from domestic violence. in your case, no divorce is necessary; however, your first wife (live-in partner) may claim damages from you like maintenance etc.

details are required to be examined.It is a complex query.living togetheris not prohibited in law but if a man and woman lives together then presumption is that they are husband and wife.You have also mentioned her name as spouse so it also confirms that she is your spouse/wife.In case of need contact with details,professional charges are applicable.
