Legal Question in Family Law in India

Live-in-relationship

1.Can a separated man (separated from his wife for almost 7-8 yrs) have a live-in-relationship with another single, unmarried woman?

2.Will it be considered as a legal offence?

3.If they dont marry and just continue living together can the wife of this said man file any charges against him? In that case what will be the legal repurcurssions if any?

4. If such a live-in-relationship is not considered illegal, is there any way that the wife may harass the man with the help of the law or police?

Please advice.

Re: Live-in-relationship

A separated man if has been legally divorced can live -in -relationship. However the voluntary and free consent of the single unmarried woman is necessary. There are ways out of the court like taking processions, approaching the media etc which are available to wife to harass the man but that is available only if they are not divorced. So better go for divorce.
